The Premier League's all-time top scorer joined the list of those praising Elliot Lee after his dream debut for Wrexham on Saturday.
Former Newcastle and Blackburn star Alan Shearer tweeted a message of celebration about Lee following his two-goal cameo off the bench to save the day.
Just short of 10,000 fans were at the Racecourse with high expectations as the Reds' welcomed Eastleigh on the opening day of the season.

Things weren't going exactly to plan for Phil Parkinson's side until the inspired substitution rescued all three points and got Wrexham off to a winning start.
Elliot, son of former Newcastle and England player Rob Lee had a debut to remember and it certainly caught the attention of his dad and his former teammate Shearer.
Following his dream start, Elliot said on Twitter: "Great feeling making my debut for Wrexham AFC at the Racecourse. Topped off with 3 points! Thanks for all the messages."

To which Shearer replied: "Elliot Lee, Elliot Lee, Elliot Elliot Lee when he gets the ball he scores a goal, Elliot Elliot Lee."

Rob Lee was in attendance at the Racecourse and described the day as 'not bad'.

Wrexham are next in action this weekend when they travel to Yeovil Town. Reds fans will be hoping for more of the same from Saturday's match-winner.
