Wrexham Council is urging residents to renew their garden waste collections before the end of August for September 2022-2023.
The charge for 2022/23 remains frozen at £25 per green bin per year, and the service runs from Monday, September 5, 2022 until Friday, September 1, 2023.
For those who paid for their garden waste collections last year (2021/22), their green bins will continue to be collected until September 2.

Darren Williams, Chief Officer Environment and Technical, said: “We’re asking residents to help us spread the word as we want to try and make sure everyone gets the best value from the service. You may have family, friends or neighbours who haven’t realised they will need to renew their green bin before September to avoid missing out on any collections. If you’re catching up with friends or relatives, or you see any neighbours in passing who use the service, please check that they realise they need to renew. Thanks.”

The easiest way to pay for the service is online but if it isn’t possible people can call Streetscene to make a card payment, though it is likely that they experience a wait. Wrexham council highly recommends paying for the service online where possible. The council will also not accept cash and cheques.
Everyone who signs up will receive a sticker pack with a new sticker, which should be displayed on your bin lid from September.
The council is asking residents to not put their new sticker on their bin lids until the new service starts in September. Please continue to display your 2021/22 sticker until that service expires on September 2.

Any unwanted garden waste bins can be removed on request. Once requested it may take a number of weeks for the bin to be collected. In the meantime, make sure bins remain empty, and accessible, but not left out causing an obstruction.

The council recommends that it may be worth keeping hold of their old garden waste bin for now because if it is removed there is a charge for a new one.
Those who do not want their garden waste collected can take their waste to one of the household waste recycling centres (free of charge). Alternatively, people can compost garden waste at home.
