WREXHAM AFC put in a commendable showing against the mighty Manchester United this afteroon.
Christian Eriksen got off the mark for his new club as the Red Devils ran out 4-1 winners in a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon at their Carrington training ground.
Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, who was officially announced as a United player on Wednesday afternoon, both started in the 2pm kick-off against the Reds.
Centre-back Raphael Varane and midfielder James Garner, a target for Premier League new-boys Nottingham Forest, also started and played the full game.
Cristiano Ronaldo took no part in the game, but did watch on in a stand by U18s pitch, the Daily Mail reports.
The two sides went in level at the break, with defender Aaron Hayden scoring for Wrexham. United went on to score three without reply in the second half.
