Training courses are to be held in order to help attendees better communicate with people living with dementia.
Wrexham Council is promoting the courses, which will take place in September and are available specifically for people living in Wrexham, or working with individuals living in Wrexham.
A council spokesman said: "The dementia interpreter course is designed to help people understand how to communicate with people with dementia and to recognise that some behaviours are often a way of telling us something.
"By understanding this behaviour, we can then reduce the frustration that losing the ability to talk can cause.
"The course will delve into the impact of communication issues on an individual and on a group – not only from your perspective but from the person’s perspective as well.

"You will learn new techniques to help understand the simple changes you need to make to understand a person and you will gain skills to decipher behaviours and enable you to understand what someone is 'saying'."
There are two sessions available per day at each venue: 9.30am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 4.30pm.
