CRIME figures have fallen by 4.5 percent in northern Flintshire since a police inspector last provided a report.

Inspector Simon Williams has issued an update on crime statistics for the area today (Friday, July 22).

He revealed that, since his last update, the number of incidents occurring in the area had fallen.

He added that 1,663 calls have been made to the service in that time, with 1,105 of those leading to criminal investigations.

Inspector Williams said: "So, my aim is to share with you where possible what we have been up to, and what plans we have in the future. The work we do is very often owing to the information provided by you the public, and I thank you for that .

"I want to reassure you though that currently, Flintshire North is down 4.5% in terms of crime recording, which means my teams are successfully delivering a crime reduction.

"Over the last few weeks, officers continue to tackle offenders causing significant harm and demand, whilst the summer months will see an increase in community engagement.

"Ultimately, the goal is to make North Wales the safest place to live in the UK, so to achieve that, my goal is to make Flintshire North the safest place to live in North Wales."
