HOLYWELL Market Group is introducing a new scheme in a bid to highlight positive work from young people amid anti-social behaviour in the area.
Members of the market group are determined not to let anti-social behaviour overshadow good in the community.
As a result, Holywell Market Group is offering a £50 reward to any young person aged between 11 and 17 who contributes and makes a difference in the community.

A statement from the market group read: “Do you know an 11–17-year-old who helps others, helps make our community a nicer place to live or just someone who stands out for being kind and considerate? Nominate them for being Holywell’s outstanding youngster.
“The market group will shortlist all entrants to a final 10 which will then go to a poll for the public to decide which youngster should receive the £50 reward.”
Voting can be made via the Holywell Community Market Facebook group.
A representative of the group said: “We thought of this in response to all the negatives we are seeing about teenagers and anti-social behaviour. We thought that this would show that not all teenagers are naughty and that we have some amazing ones in our community.”
Holywell Town Councillor, Daniel Thomas added: “It’s not just about focusing on anti-social behaviour, it’s just as important to promote the good things children are doing around the community. This is a great idea by the market group.”
