Flintshire based Aura Wales has launched their summer activity programme filled with reading, activities and challenges.
Fit, Fed and Read with Aura
Aura libraries are teaming up once again with the Aura Sports Development team for the return of Fit, Fed and Read sessions.
Food, snacks and drinks will also be provided to promote a healthy diet and all round well-being. They are running sessions in: Holywell, Buckley, Aston, Saltney, Flint, Mold and Mostyn.
There will be opportunities for children to enjoy various sports activities, plus Summer Reading Challenge resources and crafts.
The sessions are free and combine sport and library activities to promote well-being and creativity.

Summer Reading Challenge 2022
Join Aura Libraries for a summer of science, reading, creativity and fun!
READ MORE: Summer Reading Challenge book collection with Aura Libraries
To take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge organised by The Reading Agency, children will need to read 6 books throughout the summer, collect goodies along the way with each book that they read, and finally receive an extra special medal and certificate at the end of the summer holidays in celebration of completing the challenge.
Children can join the challenge at the library or online via the Summer Reading Challenge website where they can rate and review books, download activities, and access video content, games and quizzes.
The purpose of this free reading for pleasure programme is to encourage children aged 4 to 11 to keep reading during the summer holidays, and visit their local library to help maintain their reading skills and confidence.
This year’s theme, ‘Gadgeteers’, is all about science and innovation.
Pop in to your local library or visit www.aura.wales/holiday-activities to view the list of Summer Reading Challenge activities including workshops with authors Karen McCombie and Ben Davis, plus mad science workshops, Lego clubs and Xplore Science Wrexham.
