A MAN who refused to provide a sample to police after crashing his car and leaving it on its roof is to be sentenced.
Harry Block, of Maes Llan in Gwernaffield, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Monday.
The 71-year-old admitted that on June 24 at Gwernaffield when suspected of having driven a vehicle and having been required to provide specimen of blood, he failed without reasonable excuse to do so.
Catherine Elvin, prosecuting, told the court that on the day of the offence, officers were called to a collision involving an Audi TT.
When they arrived at the scene, they located the vehicle on its roof and were told the driver had left the scene after being picked up by someone.
The car was registered to Block's address.

When police knocked on his door he answered it and appeared "drunk."
He declined to give a sample of breath but was taken to hospital due to injuries he'd sustained in the collision.
After arriving at the hospital he further declined to give a sample of blood.
David Matthews, defending, said: "Mr Block has returned from the collection of a takeaway and he lost control of the vehicle.
"He believed there may have been some form of mechanical problem with his car, but it was quite a serious crash.
"Mr Block suffered some bad injuries and still has a severe form of whiplash."
Mr Matthews said when he was being asked to provide a sample, his client had never been through the process before and was "confused."
He said he was also "badly shaken up" from the collision.
The Magistrates opted to adjourn Block's sentencing to August 18 in order for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
