THE latest Mold Carnival was the busiest it has ever been in its 11-year existence, say organisers.
The sun was shining down over the Flintshire town on Sunday as the carnival returned following a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year, the Mold Carnival committee planned a full day of fun which included a BMX stunt display, Britain’s Got Talent’s ‘Sign Along with Us’, a fun fair, over 500 community performers and visits from film and cartoon characters.

In addition, there was also the Grand Final of the Carnival’s Talent competition Time2Shine, along with lots of stalls and activities.
And all of that proved to be a hit as the carnival drew in record numbers.
A statement from the organisers said: "Wow. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday's Mold Carnival. It's was the busiest we've ever seen in the 11 years we've been organising the event, just Wow!
"None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers. Our small but dedicated Carnival Committee who spend months organising and all the volunteers who help on the day from 7am through to 9.30pm.
"Yesterday was absolutely gruelling in the weather but it all went very well. Lots of aches, pains, blisters and sunburn between all the volunteers but worth it as [it was a] great success."
