A plus size model from Wrexham has won ‘Miss Voluptuous Europe’ at the Miss Voluptuous International competition in Nashville, Tennessee.
Megan (Meg) Byrne took part in the competition in April where she represented Wales and also took home two other side awards, Miss Write and Miss Tourism.
The 23-year-old, who on top of being a model is a body positivity advocate and empowerment and confidence coach, wishes to use the platform to represent beauty coming in all shapes and sizes and is not just surface deep.
Meg works closely with the YOUNG MINDS charity after suffering herself with her mental health linked to body image and now wants others to appreciate and feel confident in their own bodies.

She says that “we all doubt ourselves at times” and wish to look a different way but Meg wants to show the beauty in everyone. She is currently arranging photoshoots around the UK and Wrexham to empower and give confidence to those struggling.
Meg said: “I had the privilege and honour to walk the international stage representing Wales against other countries and states from all over the world. It was a breath-taking experience and I wish I could do it all over again! I loved learning about everyone’s different cultures and background as well as sharing my own.
“To hear my name called as Miss Voluptuous Europe felt incredible. I have had an absolutely amazing time representing Europe throughout Wales and the UK since getting back from Internationals. Sharing my experiences and spreading body positivity always!
“It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I am so lucky to have even participated never mind taking home a winning title!”
