DEESIDE Round Table has made the dreams of a young boy living with cerebral palsy come true by gifting him a much-needed trike.

As a charity, the group regularly gets asked to support a number of individuals and groups on a daily basis.

Community officer Steve Wood recently received an appeal to help provide little Dylan Parry with some life changing equipment.

Dylan is three years old and lives with cerebral palsy. He is unable to stand, walk or talk which means he is also unable to do lots of the activities that most three year olds would take part in.

He cannot use conventional bikes or trikes, but a specialist trike would give him the opportunity to play out with his friends and learn some of the critical motor skills that will hopefully enable him to walk independently in the future.

Whilst these specialists bikes are invaluable, they are very expensive and not available on the NHS.

That is where Deeside Round Table stepped in to help purchase the trike for Dylan to help him enjoy some independence.

A spokesperson for DRT said: "As a group, we are so proud to be able to help people like Dylan and can’t do this without the amazing support we receive from the people of Deeside.

"We raise money from our various activities throughout the year and this year our beer festival will hopefully allow us to help multiple people like Dylan."
