POLICE in Wrexham say they have received a further 54 calls for service during the last 24 hours - including an £800 shoplifting spree and four separate vehicle crashes.
Inspector Luke Hughes of Wrexham Police Station has recently begun to keep residents informed of daily incidents in their area via social media.
The latest update he has provided is from Thursday evening (July 7) and Friday morning (July 8) - and includes four crashes involving vehicles, possession of class A drugs and £800 of fragrances being stolen from the city centre.
Inspector Hughes says the following are just examples of what took place over the last 24 hours:
09:22am – Call from occupant who has discovered a vehicle broken into on her drive – when the night shift started last night they recognise the male in the footage, they arrest him in the early hours of this morning – he remains in custody.
12:57pm – Report of male begging in the area of Plas Coch – NPT continuing to do intervention work / enforcement as required.
1.42pm – RTC – Rhosnesni Lane – two vehicles – road blocked and remained closed whilst we ensured we got medical attention for those involved.
2am (Friday morning) – Anti-social behaviour; noisy youths Dean Road – officers attend youths run off.
