A PETITION in opposition to plans for a 141-home development in Deeside is calling on the scheme to be scrapped.
Edwards Homes has submitted an application to develop a field measuring around 5.2 hectares off Highmere Drive in Connah's Quay.
The proposed development includes a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses, with most being three-bedroom family homes.
The Ewloe-based company said the scheme had been designed to meet the current market demand, with a total of 39 affordable homes included in the plans.
But the plans have been met with opposition from residents living on Highmere Drive, and the surrounding areas.

A petition launched opposing the scheme has been signed by nearly 200 people.
It raises concerns over volumes of traffic and the loss of valued green space.
It states: "Please sign the petition to help us protect the green space that is left in Connah's Quay and surrounding areas.
"The site allocated is in the worst possible position to develop homes.
"A traffic survey was undertaken but failed to adequately account for all the additional new homes that have been built in Northop and Northop Hall that now come to Morrison’s or transit Golftyn Lane to cross the Deeside Bridge.
"It also failed to assess the impact of additional cars on the Shotton traffic bottleneck."
It adds: "The drainage system cannot cope now and complaints have already been voiced about the flooding, smell and pollution from the River Dee and this is without the addition of more houses. There is already a shortage of infrastructure (roads, GP’s, shops, public transport) for the existing population.
"The fields hold an abundance of wildlife including owls, badgers, foxes, deer and newts and is outlined by trees which fortunately are protected by a preservation order."
Edwards Homes has been approached comment.
