A North East Wales vocal group is looking for singers of all abilities to join their new project as it expands to St Asaph.
NEW Voices, part of NEW Sinfonia, normally rehearses in Wrexham’s Ty Pawb, but has now expanded to St Asaph where singers of all abilities are welcome to join rehearsals in either location in the lead-up to the North Wales International Music Festival.
NEW Voices is recruiting new members who will get the opportunity to perform a world premiere by St Asaph-born, renowned composer, Paul Mealor – in the Paul Mealor Community Opera.

The vocal ensemble will perform alongside the professional orchestra NEW Sinfonia as well as virtuosic soloists.
The group will also work under the expert leadership of North Wales conductors Robert Guy and Jenny Pearson and ready to perform as part of the 50th North Wales International Music Festival.
The work is a setting of Grahame Davies’ libretto based on the 13th-century tragic tale of Llewelyn the Great’s faithful dog Gelert.
The Community Opera’s ensemble is open to singers with varying ranges of experience and ability, from total beginners to experienced musicians.

Due to the NEW Voices’ success and expansion over the past year, the project will facilitate the second stream of rehearsals in St Asaph Parish Church alongside the usual rehearsals at Ty Pawb in Wrexham.
Rehearsals will take place on Saturday mornings at the end of July and September.
The performance will take place on Saturday, September 24 at St Asaph Cathedral.
