WELSH footballing hero Gareth Bale has confirmed the next club he will be playing for - and it, sadly, isn't Wrexham.

Over the weekend, the Leader reported that the 32-year-old was soon set to reveal which football club he has signed for.

Former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur attacker Bale had been rumoured with plenty of moves since he left the Bernabeu earlier this summer.

And Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney sent fans into meltdown when he hinted that he had an idea when it came to Bale's future. 

However, a move to the Racecourse wasn't to be - but a Hollywood connection still exists - as Bale has announced he has made the move to Los Angeles FC.

The club is owned by A-lister Will Ferrell, who is a close friend of Wrexham AFC owners McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds and was even spotted at Wembley for the Reds' FA Trophy final in May.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit has signed Bale on a one-year contract, putting an end to rumours that he could move home to Cardiff City or even make a surprise move to Wrexham.

Having fallen out of favour at Real Madrid, Bale will now be looking to get plenty of game time under his belt in LA ahead of being a vital part of the Wales squad who will take on Iran, USA and England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November.

He is currently the national team's top scorer having scored 39 times in 106 caps to date.
