BAILIFFS have been called to remove travellers from playing fields in Wrexham.
It comes after the encampment, on Waens fields in Bradley, ignored eviction notices issued by Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon.
The travellers, which have been there since last Monday, were given 24 hours to leave the site - after which bailiffs were to be called in to help with removal.
Tina Mannering, county councillor for Gwersyllt East and South Ward, said: "I have just got off the phone to officers.
"Bailiffs have been employed for removal this afternoon. I hope this is a peaceful and successful resolution to the situation."
