Inspector Luke Hughes of Wrexham Police Station said: "Locally we are working with WCBC to improve road safety in the town centre at night.
"Ultimately, no vehicles should be using this road, but without physical barriers it is now becoming a circular route, resulting in a few concerning incidents.
"Friday’s incident only goes to highlight the need to take caution."
Inspector Hughes added that the man would be charged on Saturday morning (June 18).
