CHURCH bells sounded in Wrexham earlier this week as the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands War was marked.
On Tuesday, June 14, people throughout the United Kingdom paid their respects to those who both served and lost their lives in that war which ended on the same date in 1982.
Occupying Argentine forces surrendered after British forces had retaken the overseas territory.

A team of six bell-ringers completed a Quarter Peal on Tuesday evening at the St Mary the Virgin church in Overton-on-Dee.
The video above shows the peal in full force as the bell rang out across the Wrexham area.
Other locations across the UK held their own version of events.
Portsmouth and Southampton saw task force ships depart for the South Atlantic while Cardiff held a wreath-laying service for Wales' fallen heroes.
