Chip O Dee in Wrexham was recently crowned Wrexham’s favourite kebab shop in the Wrexham Eats Kebab Shop Tournament, so I decided to try the popular takeaway.
Of course, I only had to mention the word ‘chippy’ and I was soon placing an order for my entire family as well.
We looked up the menu and found ourselves spoilt for choice. Chip O Dee is not just simply a Kebab shop or chippy, but also does various pizzas, burgers and calzones with a long list of sides. So, of course we decided to get a selection on things we could all pick at.
We ordered online for collection to save on writing out a list and waiting around. I went to pick up the food ten minutes later and walked though the doors as they were finishing up. The takeaway was not all that busy at the time though we did order fairly early.
My mum ordered a zinger burger (£3.80) which she said was “just right” on the spice. My dad ordered a large doner kebab (£6.70) which he described as “top notch” in a classic dad-way.
My brother and I went for something similar. He had a chicken wrap (£5.70) and I ordered a chicken shish wrap (£6.70) with salad and hot chili sauce which gave it a bit of a kick while not being over spicy.
Between us we also ordered two large bags of chips (£6.40 together) which we split between the four of us, eight pieces of onion rings (£2.90) and six pieces of mozzarella sticks (£3.70).

Our meals were all well portioned, so we cleared our plates without still feeling peckish after. The chips in particular stood out. We didn’t have any salt or vinegar on them (we forgot) but they were light and not particularly greasy. They may be the best chips I have ever had from a takeaway in Wrexham!
Altogether the £29.62 for four adult meals, was incredibly reasonable. I can definitely see why it was voted Wrexham’s favourite kebab shop and I’m pretty sure my dad is looking forward to his next kebab.
