A popular chippy has been crowned Wrexham’s favourite kebab shop in the Wrexham Eats Kebab Shop Tournament.
Chip O Dee came out on top over the 16 kebab shops that entered the tournament, which lasted two weeks and was run on Facebook.
The aim was simple, in each round an emoji was assigned to a kebab shop which the public used to vote for their favourite
Thousands of votes were cast on the Wrexham Eats Facebook page throughout the tournament.
In the First-Round line-up, the kabab shops were put into twos, with the public voting for their favourite of the two.
- Central Kebab and Pizza up against Pasha,
- Bellevue Grill and Fish Bar versus Krazy Pizza
- Charcoal Grill was up against Pizzano
- Chip O Dee versus Prestige Kebab
- Flame against Marmaris Kebab
- Fried Chicken Wrexham and Perfect Pizza
- Sizzle versus Sarah’s Restaurant
- Wrexham Kebab up against Pizza Fresh

Once the winners were chosen out of the eight groups, the tournament went to the Quarter Final.
In the line-up was:
- Central Kebab and Pizza versus Bellevue Grill and Fish Bar
- Charcoal Grill versus Chip O Dee
- Marmaris Kebab versus Perfect Pizza
- Sizzle against Wrexham Kebab
Then, it went to the Semi-Final where Chip O Dee, Central Kebab and Pizza, Wrexham Kebab, and Perfect Pizza all went head-to-head.

Chip O Dee and Wrexham Kebab came out on top and food fanatics of Wrexham crowned Chip O Dee the winner in the final.
On the win, Haci Deniz, the owner of Chip O Dee, said: "I'm very happy. We've been open two years, (and) I am lucky. We work hard and I won best kabab shop and I'm so glad for my nice customers for it."
