A WREXHAM man who dodged a £4 train fare has been ordered to pay out substantially more by a court.
Jordan Scott, of Ruabon Road, was convicted in his absence at Sefton Magistrates' Court in May after having failed to produce a valid ticket.
The court heard the 22-year-old made a rail journey from Port Sunlight station to Liverpool Lime Street station on October 1 last year.
At Rock Ferry station, when asked by an officer or servant of the railway company, he failed to either produce a ticket showing his fare was paid and was issued a £20 penalty fare notice (the fare he avoided being £4.)
The Magistrates Court handed down a fine of £60, as well as ordering him to pay £4 compensation, £150 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
