Locals and music fans rocked out at the We Are The Cae Music Festival this weekend as the first-ever event was held in Penycae.
In total, the festival was three years in the making, and finally, it went ahead Saturday, June 4 to the delight of many.
The music, which was played from 1pm till 8pm, could be heard all across Penycae and some locals could even be seen sitting in their gardens listening.
Over 300 people turned up to the festival, which had a bar, food, and merchandise from the bands.
All the proceeds went to Penycae Football Club, where the event was held. The event was also sponsored by Wrexham Lager.

The day was rainy but people came prepared with umbrellas as well as chairs to enjoy the day. Those who didn’t however could purchase ponchos, in true festival fashion.

The grassroots rock bands put on quite a show. The likes of Red Rum and Twister, as well as Mad Haven, and Old Glory and The Black Riviera all performed throughout the day. Bootyard Bandits, a Metal County band brought a different sound to the day. Bad Earth was the final band to be announced, just days before the festival.

There was also a support stage, where Isaac Birchall Creative, Kieron Dyson, Chester Mitch Mitchell, The New Kid, Chris Price, and Sam Evans Music all performed.
It is hoped that this will not be the last We Are The Cae Music Festival.
