A COMMUNITY turned out to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee whilst raising funds to support a local child with medical treatment.
The Leader reported recently on the fourth birthday of Aria Hodgkiss, from Rhostyllen, who was tragically diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) - a tumour in her brain stem - on the day of her third birthday.
An event held at the Hafod Social Centre in Rhos on Thursday aimed to raise funds for medication for Aria whilst marking the Jubilee.
Ponciau Councillor Paul Pemberton said: "[It was] great to see our fantastic community coming together to raise funds for Aria.
"The community came together and whilst having a fantastic time raised a substantial amount in aid of this worthy cause.
"Many thanks to the club, the Brews band and Jackie - and all our volunteers who gave [their] bank holiday up; Absolute stars all of you."
