A POLICE dog helped catch a driver who had left the scene of a collision.
The Cheshire and North Wales Police Dogs Unit provide general purpose, firearms support and specialist search dogs.
These furry friends support officers' ranging policing activities – from tackling serious and organised crime to helping bring vulnerable people back to a place of safety.

The latest dog to lend officers a helping paw was Police Dog (PD) Gas.
The German Shepherd helped track down a driver who had fled the scene of a collision in Flintshire.

A spokesperson for the Dogs Unit said: "One in the cells for PD Gas last night, who assisted NWP South Flintshire to search for the driver who left the scene of a collision.
"PD Gas tracked from the place last seen and located them hiding in tall grass with the car keys in their pocket whilst over the drink drive limit."
