The captain of a Wrexham-based cricket club has spoken about the uncertain and worrying future they're facing.
Llay Welfare Cricket Club is struggling and captain and vice-chairman Tom Crewe is doing all he can to keep the club going.
When Covid hit, a large number of the club's committee resigned without being replaced, leaving a void in the board room.
That coupled with losing some of their best players, has resulted in the club struggling to put out the two teams they need to stay in the Premier League.
Their second team has only played one out of six games so far this season, and even the first team is on the verge of forfeiting games due to a lack of numbers.
It is a real worry for Tom, who has been at the club since he was 11.
He said: "Since covid, it has been really difficult.
"Our Chairman and vice-chairman retired, which resulted in me and another player taking up those roles, not by choice.
"We are really short on players and committee members, it's the worst state the club has been in in the last four decades.

"We just don't have enough volunteers or committee members."
The club has started to focus its attention on the youth programme for the future and is also looking at short-term fixes too.
Tom added: "We're restarting our youth programme, so we're really trying to get that going.
"We run it every Monday at 6pm for under 9s and under 11s, all are welcome."

A potential merger with another local club is something Tom couldn't rule out.
He said: "We'd definitely consider a merge, that is definitely a viable option for us.
"It's been spoken about, but we'll have to see moving forward.
"Relegation is pretty much a certainty for this season, but relegation is the least of my concerns, I'm just trying to keep the club going."
