Wrexham residents who are not signed up for garden waste collections and are thinking of joining will now have to wait until sales reopen for the next collection year.
This is to make sure those residents receive a full 12-month service.
The council has said that they recently had some residents join the current 2021/22 service thinking they would get 12 months’ worth of collections from the date they signed up, but this is not how it works.
Residents who don’t already receive the collections can still join the current 2021/22 service, but need to be aware it runs until September 2, 2022, so should you join the service now you’ll only be getting around 3 months of collections.

The next full 12 months of service are not currently available. The council expects renewals for the September 2022-August 2023 service to open in the summer.
Please don’t attempt to renew before the council provides you with these details.
The cost of the garden waste collection service has been frozen at £25 per green bin per year for the next service year (September 2022-August 2023).
Darren Williams, Chief Officer Environment and Technical, said: “We’re pleased to be able to freeze the cost of the service until September 2023. The £25 per green bin per year charge will keep the cost of the Wrexham service one of the lowest in England and Wales.”
