One-year-old Alvie was Wrexham AFC member at 5 hours old

Elinor Thrivilas, a 28-year-old primary school teacher, and her husband Todd, who live in Whitchurch, welcomed Alvie into the world at 3.40am on May 11 last year.

After informing her parents several hours later she received an email from her father confirming Alvie was a Wrexham AFC member.

Alvie’s grandfather, Richard Wynne, from Buckley, felt that with many happy memories of watching the team “it would be a dream if Alvie got the bug too.”

The 58-year-old has been a season ticket holder with the club for the past 38 years and is making sure his grandson follows in his footsteps.

He went on to purchase a season ticket for Alvie as soon as one became available two months after his birth.

Despite having not attended any games so far because of his young age Mr Wynne is certain that “he will have plenty of opportunity to watch Wrexham” as he intends to extend his season ticket unless his grandson says otherwise.

The new mother said: “I can’t wait for the day that Alvie, my Dad and I are sat watching the match together.”

Having been a lifelong supporter of Wrexham the mother of one says that the team brought her comfort even along her birth journey and getting induced.

Due to covid restrictions it wasn’t possible to have anyone present until there was an active labour.

Mrs Thrivilas said: “On the ward I was in I could see the Racecourse from my window and that gave me so much comfort in such a scary time, especially when I saw the flood lights lit.

“I phoned my Dad immediately as he was watching the match and he kept me up to date with the game.. we won 3-0!”
