AN MP has visited a Wrexham business as they go from strength to strength, and aim to increase their 'green' credentials.
Earlier this month, MP for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes, visited the Archwood Group in Chirk, and learnt more about their fast growing business and big strides towards improving their environmental footprint.
Archwood Group is a privately owned company established by Henry Burbidge in 1867. They have been passionate about the design, manufacture and supply of timber products for over 150 years.

They have been based in the area for more than 32 years, and in 2019 moved their head office and consolidated all their activities to the site in Chirk which now employs over 115 people, many from the local community.
They are also proud sponsors of the Chirk AAA Football Club and provide careers advice in both Ysgol Dinas Bran in Llangollen and the Maelor School in Penley.
Archwood Group is comprised of Richard Burbidge, Atkinson & Kirby and Masons Timber Products, which together provide a wide range of wood products and services including flooring and wooden components. Its main customers include B&Q, Jewson, Homebase and Travis Perkins.
The Group has recently adopted an environmental, social and corporate governance policy to move all its electricity to renewable energy. It has also moved all its vehicles to electric, and is looking to install solar panels on the roof of the factory which will produce 50% of all its electricity needs.
Josh Burbidge, managing director, said: "We would like to thank Simon Baynes for taking the time to visit us, see our operations and discuss our environmental journey.
"As a business we are focussed on environmental sustainability, supporting our local community and delivering valued solutions to our customers. We look forward to sharing our progress in future."

Mr Baynes added: "It was a great pleasure to meet with Josh Burbidge , Lee Burford (director of operations), Craig Holt (director of marketing and business developments) and other members of the Archwood Group team during my recent visit to their factory in Chirk.
"They are an excellent example of a long established family business, and it was a great opportunity to learn more about their big strides towards renewable energy, as well as their success as a company with rapidly growing sales.
"It also gave me great pleasure to hear about their work in the community and the fact they employ 115 people, many of whom live locally. I look forward to watching them continue their strong growth in the years ahead."
