ONE of the world's fastest steam locomotives is visiting Wrexham tomorrow.
The 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is returning to the mainline this Tuesday as it runs between Crewe and Shrewsbury.
Departing Crewe at 9.30am, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will pass through Chester (10.39) and Wrexham General (11.00), before passing through Ruabon and Chirk.

The Sir Nigel Gresley was the 100th Gresley Pacific built by the Great Northern Railway / London and North Eastern Railway. Built at Doncaster, the locomotive entered service in 1937 and was mainly based at London King's Cross, with a spell at Grantham during World War II On June 3, 1956, Sir Nigel Gresley had the honour of hauling the Royal Train from King's Cross to York with H.M the Queen on board.
Sir Nigel Gresley is the holder of the postwar steam record speed of 112 miles per hour (180 km/h) gained on 23 May 1959 and carries a plaque to that effect.
