Former track star Colin Jackson has spoken about the special nature of graduation days as Glyndwr University students celebrated the end of their studies.
The Olympic silver medallist is now the Chancellor at the Wrexham-based university and was on site as students celebrated their graduation.
Glyndwr opted away from the classical ceremonial approach and instead hosted 'Grad Fest' which was a more laid back approach to give students and their families a chance to celebrate their education success.

After some what of an uncertain couple of years, Colin felt it was important to make the most of days like those, he said:
"We've all been through it in all different shapes and sizes, it's been traumatic on any level, so any time we have an opportunity to get together, to celebrate success, is really important because it lifts your general spirit and lifting your spirit leads you to stride forward all the time, these things are very important.
"You look around and see smiley faces and happy people, it's been a long time since we've done that and we feel that is so much being part of being a human.

"You think of all the different things we have to go through in life and this is just one of those positive moments that you can look back on in history and reflect on.
"We're only as good as our history in that sense, so if you can make a good one it gives you a good opportunity to leap forward with a better legacy in the end."
