Wrexham Town Police Station FC’s latest match saw their first defeat.
The match against Bridge The Gap FC ended the Officers’ four-game streak in convincing fashion.
Though disappointed with the final result, club founder Sgt Dave Smith remains upbeat about his side’s progress to date.

He said: “All credit to Bridge The Gap, who had some very good footballers within their squad and deserved their win on the day.
“Once again, the game was played in the right spirit by both sides and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone involved.
“As always for us though, the result was secondary to what we are trying to achieve when we step out onto the field.
“This was our fifth fixture since starting this club as part of our community engagement initiative.
“Every side we’ve faced so far has been completely on board with what we’re trying to achieve, which is to break down barriers between police officers and communities.
“We’d like to thank the football community for making us feel so welcome.
“We formed this team to forge stronger links with the public and we’ve been inundated with so much support already.
“Hopefully we have shown a human side to policing and given people a positive impression of the force as a whole.”
Further fixtures are already lined-up for the summer against FC United of Wrexham and Rainbow Toffees, an Everton LGBTQ+ supporters group.
