A CHOCOLATE shop is the latest to open its doors in Mold.
Mold Town Centre’s latest business celebrating ‘sweet success’ is K&G Chocolates - which recently moved in to units 4/5 in the Ambrose Lloyd Centre, just off Wrexham Street in the town.
They have relocated their business to Mold from Summerhill in Wrexham.
Owners Kev Longley and Gill Hughes both grew up in Mold and opened their small independent chocolate business in 2018, producing handmade chocolates and truffles to initially sell at Craft, Gift and Artisan Fairs and also to meet online orders for events such as weddings, christenings, corporate events and personal orders.

As the business grew they started to stock their chocolates at a number of retail outlets. Both Kev and Gill have worked extremely hard to ensure their success and are both very proud to have managed to keep their fledgling business growing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Longley said: “As the business and order book grew, we started to look for a suitable premise to relocate to Mold. We were lucky enough to find a premises that provides enough space not only for the chocolate workshop but also from which to sell the chocolates and also space to offer an Artisan Pop Up Shop to other fledgling businesses.
"After years of attending Craft and Artisan Fairs selling our own products, the opportunity to have a shop space gave me the idea of using this to offer other local artisans an opening in which they too can sell their handcrafted products by way of Netta Bach’s Pop Up Shop.

"We are hoping providing this space will help other small local businesses to grow, whilst also providing the local community with the chance to buy unique handcrafted items. We are also hopeful that this will help bring some life and vibrancy back to The Mall area and we would encourage everyone to come along and visit us and the pop up shop.”
He added: "Gill and I have been overwhelmed with the level of local support we have received from customers both old and new and we’re both very thankful that this has enabled K&G Chocolates to grow to where it is today, we are looking forward to developing and growing our business further.”
Mayor of Mold Councillor Sarah Taylor recently went along to visit K&G Chocolates to officially welcome them to Mold.
She said “Businesses in Mold have certainly been keeping me busy throughout my Mayoral term and I was delighted to welcome Kev and Gill to our town.
"K&G Chocolates specialise in handmade filled Belgian chocolate truffles and regularly introduce new flavours, alongside handmade chocolate bars and children's chocolates and I was delighted to be able to sample a few chocolates and truffles during my visit, it certainly won’t be my last visit now I have tasted them, delicious!”
Netta Bach’s pop up artisan shop will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with visiting local artisans joining Kev in the shop. Plus they are open on the first Sunday of the month to coincide with the Artisan Street Market.
