It wasn't to be for a North Wales marketing manager as he bowed from Masterchef in finals week.
Ioan Jones, who was born in Ruthin and grew up in Wrexham was part of the 18th series of the popular BBC show and made it through to the final five.
The 38-year-old, who now lives in Salford, first appeared on episode 7 and made it all the way to finals week, but he couldn't quite make it all the way.
Ioan, whose parents reside on Anglesey, says he was originally inspired to cook by his mum and two grandmothers and his main aim is to 'make people smile' through the food he cooks.
Appearing in episode 19, the chefs were challenged to make a dish inspired by someone that means something to them.

Ioan, who was labelled as 'daring' by hosts John Torode and Greg Wallace, made a beef fillet marinated in miso and saki, with a wasabi puree, a fried oyster and a kombu and shiitake jus.
The marketing manager said the dish was inspired by Tom Daley, after he claimed his first gold medal in four attempts at the Tokyo Olympics.
Ioan said Daley was an inspiration for the work he had done for the LGBTQ community, something Ioan has worked with as well.
The dish wasn't enough for Ioan to progress to the final four, but Wallace said he should be very proud of what he has done on the show.
The winner of the series will be announced on Thursday night (May 5)
You can stream the series so far on the BBC iPlayer.
