INQUESTS have been opened into the deaths of a father and daughter killed following a collision in Bagillt.
Retired fitter John Daniel Roberts, 34, was driving a BMW on the A548 coast road in the early hours of April 22 when it left the road and collided with a wall of Lyons Den Gym.
At the opening of an inquest in Ruthin on Tuesday, May 3, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said that Mr Roberts, of Northop Road, Flint, was confirmed dead at the scene and the provisional cause of death given by pathologist Dr Mohammad Aslam was “head injury”.
His 13-year-old daughter Lacie Jade Roberts, who was a rear-seat passenger, suffered multiple injuries and died shortly after arriving at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Lacie, of Prince of Wales Avenue, Flint, was a pupil at Flint High School.
Adjourning the inquest to a date to be fixed, Mr Gittins said he hoped it would be held later this year but that depended on the investigation by North Wales Police’s forensic collision investigation unit.
