Tune in to a celebration of all things vinyl this weekend for the annual event, Record Store Day.

This Saturday (April 23) is Record Store Day, the one day of the year that unites more than 250 record shops in the UK and thousands globally. It's a celebration of their independence, unique culture and the art of vinyl.

Set up in 2007 to champion independent record shops, it's still going strong as it celebrates not only the businesses that have stood the test of time but also the new generation of shops that have just opened their doors.

Many of the world's major recording artists support the event by releasing exclusive vinyl records. This year includes releases from the likes of David Bowie, Blur, Noel Gallagher, The Rolling Stones, The Prodigy and hundreds more.

As part of the official Record Store Day organisers' mantra, records cannot be pre-ordererd or reserved, it's simply first come first served at the stores on the day.

VOD Music in Mold will be the only record shop in North Wales where you can get your hands on these very exclusive limited editions.

Owner Colin Trueman said: "It is the most exciting day of the year for independent record shops and the initiative by the Record Store Day organisers 15 years ago has played a major role in the resurgence in vinyl, which year on year continues to grow."

VOD Music's doors will open at 8am on Saturday, April 23, on New Street, Mold. For more information phone Colin on 07904 688 739 or visit vodmusic.co.uk where titles expected will be listed on their Records Store Day page.
