THE devastated parents of a popular young Shotton woman have paid emotional tribute to her.
Jade Ward was murdered by her estranged husband, Russell Marsh, in August last year at her Chevrons Road home.
After Marsh received a life sentence at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday, Jade's mum Karen Robinson paid tribute to her - describing her as an amazing mum whose smile "could light up the world."
Speaking to the Leader on Wednesday, 55-year-old Paul Ward, Jade's dad, spoke of his memories of his daughter's life.
He said: "[On June 22, 1994], in a side room in the Countess of Chester, Jade Lucy Ward was born.

"It was such a brilliant time for us both.
"I played music through a speaker to Karen's belly for Jade, and when she was born she was into hardcore techno music.
"She wouldn't go anywhere until we put it on - and we'd have to play it to get her off to sleep as well.
"From the start Jade was a smiler. On our days out in the car, she would point to the car stereo, rocking back and to, getting excited for the music that would be played.
"We watched Jade through school and grow up to be a fine, happy wonderful daughter who would light up any room with her infectious smile.

"She loved spending time with her grandad, George, and my mother Lucy.
"Jade often went abroad with them - her favourite place was Ibiza.
"Jade was a bit wild in her teens, but who wasn't?"
Karen Robinson, 51, said: "She was a one-off. There will never be another Jade in this world again.
"She was like a magnet. People were attracted to her because she had such a beautiful soul."
Mr Ward, who originally comes from Birkenhead, said he'll best remember mum-of-four Jade for her smile and friendly demeanour.
He said: "I asked her when she was about 13 what she wanted to do in life.
"She just said 'I want to be a mother and I want my own family.'
"When she first became pregnant, she totally changed overnight.
"She came to me doing a mad dance saying 'I'm going to be a mother!'
"It's a moment I'll never forget. She was so excited."
