A CAMPAIGN is underway to get a Wrexham AFC legend to Wembley for the FA Trophy Final.
Gareth Davies made a whopping 490 appearances for the Reds in a career that spanned 16 years - all of which were spent at his beloved Wrexham.
The central defender, who captained Wrexham, was also capped three times by Wales.
In recent years, his health has sadly declined as he battles dementia - leaving him wheelchair dependent and in the Bay Tree House care home in Wrexham.

The husband of a woman who used to care for him has now launched a bid to get Gareth to the cup final on May 22.
Martin Evans says he has been overwhelmed at the reaction after he took to social media to appeal for help in getting Gareth to the FA Trophy final vs Bromley as a Guest of Honour.
"The amount of love and support this man is receiving from fans young and old is phenomenal," he said.
"When my wife gave me this idea I wasn't 100 per cent sure how it would go down.
"I won't stop, I'm determined to do this and the support I've received is fantastic too, from friends and family, to supporters across the world and even number 35 Ollie Palmer himself."
Martin messaged Reds star striker on Twitter, who replied and said he would do what he could to make it happen.
Numerous tweets with the #GetGarethToWembley Twitter hashtag have been posted in support of it.
The idea came about as Martin's wife, Tammy, used to care for Gareth.
He said: "I heard of how he was and thought it would be a fantastic idea to try and help such a highly respected club legend have a day out to Wembley.
"And a lot of the comments I read on my post were all about how much of a great player he was and a lovely person - my wife agrees that he was one of the nicest people she had ever met."
ITV's weather girl Ruth is on board.
Of course I’m completely impartial but when I see tweets like this I love the @Wrexham_AFC family more and more! Can we get Gareth to Wembley?! 🔴❤️ https://t.co/Hd5pkwIBNI

After the campaign was launched, people have been fondly remembering Gareth's playing days.
One person said: "Throughout my time living in Gresford, Gareth was an ever present in the Wrexham side. Class player."
Another added: "One of the best players I saw playing for Wrexham and that at a time when they were as good a side as they have ever had in their long history."
A further comment said: "I was privileged to be around the 77/78 squad every day for a couple of seasons, what a nice bloke Gareth was. He gave advice to us youngsters then."
