A MUSIC festival is being held in memory of a Flintshire teenager who never got the chance to experience one.
Jordan Giddins, from Flint, was diagnosed in November 2015 with Ewings Sarcoma, which was a secondary cancer due to all of his previous treatment.
The disease is a rare type of cancer that affects bones and mainly affects children and young people. Jordan, known as Giddo, died in 2016 - aged just 18.
In his memory, the Giddo's Gift charity was founded to help other teenagers and young adults going through similar battles.
On Saturday, May 14 Gid Fest will be held at the Flint Mountain Park Hotel.
Starting at 2pm, the music festival event will help to raise vital awareness and funds for Giddo's Gift, which marks its fifth anniversary this summer, and Blood Cancer UK.
Tom Collins is a local music artist and friend of Giddo's who is helping to organise the event.
He said: "I’ve run similar events before for Giddo’s Gift. In the past four years, we’ve done Rock for Giddo at The Legion in Flint which has been really popular and raised a lot of money for the charity.
"I’ve always wanted to do a festival in memory of Giddo because I feel like it’s something he would’ve loved. So this year we’ve had Flint Mountain Park Hotel involved and we’re running the festival at their venue with a talented line up of musicians, fireworks on display, food vans, glitter-bugs, other stalls and a DJ inside at the end."

Tom added: "It’ll be nice to finally do a proper outdoor live music event after a quiet couple of years due to the pandemic, raising money for this amazing local charity that we all love and adore.
"Team Giddo are so busy this year with it being the fifth anniversary of the charity so we're going to make it the best it can be - but we can only do that with the help and support of this fantastic community.
"Let’s hope it’s a good one!”
Tickets are priced at £5 for children (under 16s), and £10 for adults.
To purchase tickets, contact Tom Collins Music, Ben Laughton or the Flint Mountain Park Hotel on 01352 736000, or contact the Giddo’s Gift charity directly.

Giddo's mum, Mandy, said: "Gid Fest is a tribute to festivals and Jordan as Jord always wanted to go to a festival with his friends but was always too poorly.
"Tom Collins was a good friend of Jord's, and we can't thank him enough for this.
"Jord would love it - a day for people to come together and enjoy."
On the charity's fifth anniversary, Mandy said: "I really can’t believe we have continued for years without our beautiful boy - he is certainly the inspiration to keep us going and helping hundreds of young people each year in his name."
