THREE teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a devastating blaze on marshland in Parkgate.
The huge fire occurred shortly before 7pm on Saturday, March 19 at Parkgate.
Six fire engines were deployed to the scene as they fought the blaze involving around 500 square metres of marshland. Firefighters had to battle through the night to put out the fire.
Their efforts were hampered by gusts, while the police air support unit was deployed to help crews on the directional spread of the blaze.
Following a police appeal, Cheshire Police has confirmed that three teenagers have been arrested.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of arson.
"Three boys – two aged 13, and one aged 14, are currently in custody being interviewed by officers."
