A NEW art gallery - set up in a former garage of a Flintshire home - is set to launch over Easter.

Plans to turn a garage at a Caerwys property into art gallery facilities were given the go-ahead by Flintshire Council in May 2021.

As a result of that, Glasfryn Hall on South Street will officially become 'Oriel Glasfryn Gallery' and be opened to the public as of Easter Saturday (April 23).

Flintshire's newest art gallery will be run by the husband and wife team of Dave and Lise Roberts, who own the property.

The Leader:

PIC: Lise and Dave Roberts are the proud owners of a new art gallery set to launch in Flintshire.

Glasfryn Gallery will sell fine and exclusively Welsh art and craft.

It sits in the grounds of a fine country house, Glasfryn Hall, which will be opened alongside the main gallery for special extended exhibitions every summer and winter.

The Gallery will sell an ever-changing selection of high-quality work by artists with a strong Welsh connection, including paintings, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork and sculpture.

It will also be home to a permanent display of North Wales landscape paintings by gallery owner, Dave Roberts.

Lise Roberts said: "We have a really good back story and hopefully it is really good news for artists from across Wales as well as Flintshire from a tourism and local business perspective."

Oriel Glasfryn Gallery is interested in hearing from established or emerging artists with a Welsh connection who would like their work to be represented and sold there. Please email info@orielglasfryn.com to request more information.
