It was a very stylish time at a Flintshire primary school recently, as the pupils of KS2 had their very own Fashion Week.
The event at Sealand CP School included learning about the world of fashion and the impact it has on our planet and environment.
The week started by learning about fast fashion and learners were challenged to think of ethical and sustainable ways to dispose of old or unwanted clothing.
Each class created a magazine article focusing on a topic related to fashion, including Sustainable Fashion Top Tips, Welsh fashion designer fact files, and a write-up of an interview with an industry expert.
The articles have been put together to create seven fashion magazines in KS2.
During the week learners interviewed an industry expert who works at a well-known fashion company and asked questions about job roles and fast fashion.
Learners designed and made bags which can be reused again and again. Each class had a different theme, Year 3 - Animals, Year 4 - Wales, Year 5 - Extreme Earth and Year 6 - Magic.
At the end of the week they came in their own clothing with the themes, dressed to impress, and showcased their bags on the catwalk.
The week focused on the New Curriculum for Wales and was packed with exploring different skills and knowledge in a variety of areas including health and wellbeing, language, science, expressive arts and digital skills.
It was a fantastic week, with seeing everyone showcase their design on the catwalk was a real highlight!
