Llangollen bridge has been completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians after a crash.
The bridge, on Castle Street in Llangollen has been closed after an incident involving a lorry.
It is believed to have collided with a lamppost and railings outside of Dee Side cafe.
North Wales Police have confirmed that the road has been 'completely closed'.
A statement said: "Due to an ongoing RTC the bridge on Castle Street, Llangollen is currently completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians.
"Please avoid the area if possible. Thank you for your assistance."
The incident today comes after questions were raised regarding the volumes of traffic on the bridge after contractors completing the road works caused damage to one of the seven wonders of Wales.
The incident has effectively cut the town in two with the street completely closed by police and traffic being diverted around the town.
As a crowd looks on, the lorry is still lying across the middle of the carriageway and a number of people are complaining that they can't negotiate the bridge to get to their homes on either side.
Damage has been caused to the railngs in front of the seating area in front of the Deeside cafe bar and a number of large stones along the top of the adjacent bridge.
Town councillor Stuart Davies has blamed the incident on what he called the "ever-moving" barriers of the 2020 project making it difficult for drivers to maneuver properly in the narrowed roadways.
Residents have expressed their concerns on social media, one said: "It just gets worse by the day! What are they doing to this lovely town."
Another added: "Won't be long before they have to redo the whole bridge."
