The Los Angeles event was full of familiar faces including McElhenney who is now seen as something of a Welsh ambassador after immersing himself in the country's culture.

In a video posted to Wrexham AFC's official Twitter account, McElhenney - who took control of the club alongside Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds in February 2021 - expressed his views on the Welsh language.

He added that he has even been receiving Welsh language lessons via Zoom.

In the video, McElhenney says: "From our perspective and certainly from my perspective I thought it was really important to delve into the culture and into the people as much as I could.

"The best way to do that is to understand the language that people speak and so, of course, I'm very early in my learning, but it's really important to me that I continue on with it."

He then shows off some of his Welsh skills by saying: "Dwi'n caru'r iaith Gymraeg (I love the Welsh language)."

But, this is not the first time McElhenney has shown a lot of love for Wales and the Welsh language.

Last year, he impressed many with his pronounciation of the Anglesey village which has the longest name in Wales. He rolled 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch' off the tongue with ease, wowing fans as he did so.

He also described his first visit to Wrexham as a 'beautiful experience'. That came during a tour of the Racecourse ground in October 2021.
