A Chrik hero who completed a marathon despite his disabilities will be celebrated on S4C in a special programme.
Dathlu Dewrder 2022 (Celebrating Bravery) will air on Friday, 18 March, and will celebrate and thank many groups and individuals for their remarkable work in Wales.
During the hour-long programme, the stories of nine organisations and individuals across Wales and beyond will be told; including Dr Jonathan Hurst of Liverpool Women's Hospital, and Dawn Thomas, a Paediatric Care Play Specialist for Hywel Dda Health Board, and Michael Beynon of Chirk.
Despite living with Down Syndrome, Hypertonia in one leg and only 50 per cent vision, Michael completed the London Marathon last year, in order to raise money for Mencap.
He became the first Welshman with Down Syndrome to complete the marathon.
Erika Walker, Michael's mother, said: "He has always been determined, and he surprises us every day. In textbook terms, the conditions he has should stop him from doing things, but every day, Michael has a go at everything.
"I'm proud of him every day with everything he does. I think that children and adults with Down Syndrome can do more than people think they can; they always try so hard and don't let anything stop them; they shine like stars.”
