A BROUGHTON-BOUND Beluga aircraft landed in Birmingham after declaring an in-flight emergency.

Airbus' Beluga 4 was travelling to Broughton on Thursday afternoon when the incident occurred.

The aircraft landed at Birmingham Airport and was met by three fire engines.

An Airbus spokesperson said: "The crew of Beluga 4 reported a technical issue with the aircraft, so followed standard procedure and diverted to Birmingham, where they landed safely.

"The aircraft will remain at the airport while technicians are dispatched."
