MOTORISTS and residents have had their say after learning that more works are to take place on the A483 from next week.
The works between near the England border and Junction 7 in Rossett will affect both the northbound and southbound carriageways.
The work will be taking place between the England-Wales border and J7 Rossett between March 1 and April 6.
The second lanes of both sides of the carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 6am each day, including weekends.
A temporary 50mph limit will be implemented during the duration of the roadworks - which are for central reservation improvements.
Residents of Gresford, Marford and Rossett have expressed their frustration after enduring weeks of road surfacing work on the A483 last year - work that will have to be done again at an unscheduled period in 2022.
Now, Leader readers have said what they think on our Facebook page.
Trisha Gemmell said: "Bloody brilliant. Then we will have weeks of closures when they re do the cowboy job they did of the resurfacing."
Adam Spencer said: "Frantic attempt to burn the remaining budget by the end of the tax year again it seems."
Andy Jones said: "Should have done it in the lockdown periods. Can do stuff for the A483 yet nothing has been done for the Newbridge Road
Bryony Holmes added: "I’m working from home for the foreseeable."
However, others were more sympathetic.
Jennifer Jones said: "Take a drive down the concrete road to Uttoxeter and then you see what a bumpy road is. The 483 is pretty good compared to that."
Mitch Currie said: "Great news, long over due."
While another reader thought investment could be used elsewhere on the A483.
Pearl Davies said: "Get the Newbridge done to save all the traffic jams in Llangollen."
This "crossover work" project is separate from the work that needs to be done in 2022 on the A483 to resurface the carriageway between Gresford and Rossett.
