NEW measures are being introduced in the hope of helping to ease traffic chaos in areas affected by A483 diversions.
Councillors from Trevor, Cefn Mawr and Acrefair areas met with representatives of Wrexham Council and the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Ageny to discuss the issues.
It comes following the "traffic nightmare" caused by the recent closures of the Dee Viaduct amid Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice.
Traffic off the A483 was diverted via the A5 through Chirk and Llangollen, and then via Llangollen Road - affecting Trevor, Cefn Mawr and Acrefair areas

Following the meeting, new measures to try to help ease the congestion were agreed.
There will be extra gatemen placed on Abernant Road / Lower Queen Street and King Street in Acrefair/ Cefn Mawr to deter HGV entering the villages.
The Bont bridge will have traffic control on each side to allow a steady movement of vehicles across the bridge to ease queuing, with the gatemen encouraging the lorries to stay on the correct diversionary routes.
