THE WELSH Government has reacted to the "horrifying" news of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
During the early hours of Thursday (February 24), Russia launched an all-out assault on Ukraine - with civilian and military casualties reported to have already occurred.
Wales' First Minister, Mark Drakeford, described the news as "horrifying and appalling".
"The international community must now stand together with the people of Ukraine against such unprovoked aggression," he said on Twitter.
Welsh Secretary, Simon Hart, added: "The news from Ukraine this morning is profoundly sobering.
"What we are witnessing is an unprovoked and unjustifiable attack on a democratic nation. But such an attack will bring out the best of the free world as we unite in our determination to resist such tyranny."
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to address the UK on the matter later today.
