WINDS during Storm Franklin hit Flintshire harder than those during Storm Eunice.
Data from the weather station in Hawarden recorded wind gusts of 60mph during the height of Storm Franklin on Monday morning.
This compares to gusts of 54mph during Storm Eunice on Friday afternoon.
Flintshire and Wrexham were covered by a yellow warning for high winds by the Met Office on Monday.
During Storm Eunice, the region was included in a more serious amber warning.
But North Wales escaped the worst of the wind and rain in the UK. A rare red warning covering South Wales and parts of the south west of England was issued on Friday.
Thousands of families across the UK remained without power on Monday, days after Storm Eunice’s gale-force winds toppled power lines and cut off their supply.
