FOCUS Wales festival organisers have revealed a list of 75 new acts who will play at the Wrexham event later this year.

The popular festival will see over 250 acts from Wales and all around the world descend on the town between May 5 and 7.

Among the 75 acts announced on Wednesday, February 16, are; Ogun, Jodie Marie, Eadyth, Tara Bandito, Keys, Alice Low, Mickey Callisto, Monique B, Cerys Hafana, Bryan's Magic Tears, Megan Lee, Asha Jane, MINAS and Eye.

These will all be featured over the course of the event as well as new artists from France, India, Spain, and the USA.

The last festival of its kind was held in October 2021 and marked FOCUS Wales' 10th anniversary.

And there really are so many artists to look out for at this year's event too.

Following the release of their fourth album Bright Magic late in 2021, Public Service Broadcasting will be performing their most ambitious live set to date, headlining Llwyn Isaf, the new outdoor big top on Thursday May 5.

Having reached the top spot in almost every Album of The Year list in 2021, winning BBC Introducing Artist of The Year, and now a 2022 Brit Awards nominee, Self Esteem make their debut in Wrexham on Friday, May 6.

Meanwhile, one of the most influential bands in modern UK music, Echo & The Bunnymen will headline the same stage on Saturday, May 7.

Other headliners announced include post-punk band Goat Girl, touring off the back of their critically acclaimed 2021 album On All Fours, as well as award-winning Welsh artist Gwenno, and the hotly-tipped alt-rock group Crawlers.

Also joining the line-up are the exciting 16 piece collective, Balimaya Project, fusing West-African folkloric music and jazz in a unique, contemporary way.

100 further acts are also set to be announced by organisers over the coming months.

FOCUS Wales is Wales’ biggest music industry event, with three days of panels, keynote talks, and industry advice.

The festival will see over 400 music industry professionals descend upon Wrexham from around the world.

First speakers announced include: Lauren Down (End of The Road Festival), Henca Maduro (New Skool Rules, Netherlands), Cils Williams (ATC Live Agency), Jude Rogers (The Guardian), Jessie Atkinson (Gigwise), Ben Ryles (DHP Family), Ian White (Outer/most Agency, USA) plus representatives from PRS Foundation, AIM, PPL, and Arts Council.

FOCUS Wales 2022 takes places on May 5, 6 and 7 across various venues in Wrexham.
